How do I become CISSP certified?
The steps and requirements to become CISSP certified are more involved than those of most certifications. Below is an overview of this process:
(1) Examination
To take the CISSP examination, a candidate must first submit an examination fee. Candidates are then required to fill out an experience affidavit stating at least four years of experience in any one of the ten domains of the Common Book of Knowledge (CBK) or if the candidate possesses a four year degree, that minimum is reduced to three years of experience in any one of those 10 domains. Candidates are also required to answer four questions concerning their criminal history and background.
(2) Certification
To be issued a certificate, the candidate must pass the CISSP exam with a score of 700 points or higher. Candidates who successfully pass the CISSP exam are required to have their application endorsed by either a CISSP or a qualified security professional before the certification is awarded.
